When Will Business Wake up to Advantages of Socio Corporate Tech Behaviour?

The multiple established and new facets of technology never fail to blow my mind. The ability to simultaneously and at pace deal with business and social aspects of your life has changed lifestyles for decades to come.

Society recognises this yet the corporate world,  run by those from that very society,  seem somewhat behind the curve. In fairness, hi-tech organisations seem to be getting there.

So I get you don't have customer facing staff doing their online shopping while serving their own customers. But I'm sure rest breaks can deal with that.

But where in an office, or on the move, does it really impact business? Folks are probably doing it in some places anyway, especially if hybrid or homeworking.

But is there any detriment to allow employees the ability to have this working model? Of course you need controls in place so people don't take the piss and if they do, you simply withdraw the model from them.

In allowing it however,  with a clear prioritisation on business activity and measures based on outcomes,  it could conceivably work.

For some this sounds a crazy idea! But look at current situations, there's a massive retention and recruitment problem because people want more focus on their life.

By allowing employees to use technology for both( remember the controls) , this model could actually attract and retain tje workforce.

It also shapes the business of the future which without doubt, will see such integrated working. After all given the rise of social media platforms in business,  does it really make sense to create a division of the working day.

When actually it could encourage a behaviour where, recognising the benefits,  employees do more on the business side, to encourage continuity of the model?!
