Is the Fashion Guage No Longer?

In months we've gone from people out shopping in onesies and scruffy hair to a new respectability.

A hybrid of couture it seems , with some still emerging from and wearing the cocoon of pandemic. Almost like a phased approach to dressing up again!

But that's part of the excitement of seeing how it will be. Cos actually,  no one seems to really give a hoot and everything goes.

Even in the offices, I've noticed everything from suited and booted to suited and almost slippers!

Suits and outfits cannibalised and it seems what once seemed ridiculous is now trendy.

Retailers don't really know what to stock and classic tailors and high end houses are having to look a bit further afield.

Their business impact,  the prestige are looking to hit the mass market. Their competition being sustainable re and upcycling.

A new breed of commerce is burgeoning as the circular economy extends its reach across society!

The labels more about where and when things were remade rather than made!

But are we witnessing something else. Is this truly the breaking down of social systems,  at least as far as appearance goes?

Who would have thought the financial and industrial city powerhouses,  would host anything but the sharpest of style and stitching?

Items once designated to different facets are now multi-purpose. The corporate and the casual having their boundaries blurred and meshed.

For a lot, it still takes a bit of getting used to. Because somewhere in the recent past we've associated too much with appearance.

The belief that professionals should look a certain way to make the impression?

Perhaps now that the veneers are less of a priority that self-confidence will come to the fore and people respected for who they are,not how they look?
