Let Me Check with my Supervisor Aaaarrggh!!
Please just don't do it!! You know that moment when a customer asks a simple question and they get the "let me check?"
It's not the fault of the individual whose clearly operating under company rules. It's the lack of empowerment from leadership that's the root cause.
So sure there have to be controls on levels of authority. But if you're selling or dealing at certain levels then delegate that authority to those you expect to sell for you.
Making a customer wait for an answer or staff looking unsure can lead to the customer just going elsewhere. Think about it, align the authority levels and ensure you can sell in a dynamic way.
