When Virtual Becomes Reality

Fast forward 10 years...no let's talk 5 years! What are the business strategies saying for the next few years?

Some will be assuming no real changes to markets and trends. Some will assume a level of change and some have no strategy at all.

For those with strategy they will be looking at how to better equipped their workforce. Tools and access methods to keep them always on,always available and able to respond quickly.

Of course that also means being able to work from different locations. Trains, planes, coffee shops etc.

No real change from today really? Only today we have the convenience of working from places we naturally visit on the move in normal non covid times.

But what if these locations now become the place of work rather than convenience. Coffee shops will undoubtedly further gear up to deal with corporate customers.

There will be pods to enable conference calls and more comfortable furniture.

Their business models will be less about footfall,  more retained corporate customers. Tables and corporate pods will be rented by the hour.

As office space premiums increase these coffee shops and cafés can become the lower cost workplace of choice! 

Maybe I've had too much caffeine and my mind is working overtime...then again maybe not!
