USA Leaves the World!

Dear USA

We recall those halcyon days when we looked to the USA for inspiration. The land of the free; virtuous, innovative and supportive.

You put your mark on the world, corporately and socially,  allowing others to share,even at a distance, some of your wonderful culture.

Your cities and country have wowed. From the glistening Manhattan skyscrapers to the awe inspiring monolithic giants of Monument Valley.

You were there at our shoulders through world conflicts, fighting fascism and other despotic evils and helped sustain peace. Your Presidential leaders having a positive global presence both in character and execution of duties.

Whenever the world looked to the USA it was inspired.One of the great modern civilizations. 

A truly united nation who fought against division and hatred. A mixing pot of culture which built variety in your many metropolitan areas!

The civilized world looked to you as the reliable leader and partner. A lasting relationship which would flourish for generations to come.

You influenced markets with your exports and industrial presence and you welcomed the sharing of trade. Recognising the benefits to your people and world status.

Environmentally we loved your great outdoors. Crystal rivers, unspoiled landscapes, mountains and forests in their vast glory free from unsightly carbuncles.

Sadly all that I describe is now obscured and flipped on its head. Influenced by values and behaviours of one man who has driven a truck through everything the Founding Fathers stood for.

It is being dismantled before our eyes, the few that are still looking that is. The world, despite what your leader is telling you, sadly no longer looks to the USA for inspiration.

His speeches are at best comical at worst terrifying and the office of POTUS is losing the credibility its many past luminaries worked so hard to build.

Countries are looking for new partners, reliability and friendship. The countries are looking to maintain the very values you gave to the world,even as your own leader rips them up.

One day you will return and we very much look forward to and welcome that day. 

Until then we hope the chasms of Trumpism abate and heal!
