Positively Critical
It is not acceptable to encourage bullying, put downs and unnecessary criticism
It damages morale, sucks energy from people and isn't good for business reputation.
Thankfully controls around these areas are improving.
However the above does not mean that when there is a major screw up you merely smile and get on with it! Why...
Because it may have a serious impact which prevents progress.
The individual(s) responsible will never learn and could repeat the issue.
It encourages a behaviour which is a start of a race to the bottom!
It stops you attracting real talent for they do not want to be part of a never-ending culture of chaos!
So you need to tell them in no uncertain terms when they're wrong. And this is not being politically incorrect. This is dealing with, nurturing - you know that thing that has shaped us all from the day we came on this wonderful planet.
Sure they may chuck a strop and stomp off or sit with a face so long it flops over their keyboard but so what!
Business has to be sustainable for the sake of everyone. Letting people do whatever, whenever is not the way to do it.
So let's all have a reality check and ensure we don't end up in an avalanche of snowflake attitude because all that will do is create a long term winter for the global corporate world!
