Empowering is success

Contrary to what many believe, empowerment is not just giving authority to do something, it is an enabler to changing behaviours. For the better!

I've come across far too many people who tell me they could do things so my much better and achieve so muh more if they were even a little empowered.

Leaders need to build teams in which the individuals can exert more authority. This may at first seem daunting for a leader to do.

They're the boss, that's their role to make the big decisions, have the senior discussions and hold all the authority?

Very 20th century!

But this is 2020. Hierarchy exists but business us beginning to give it a different shape.

Hierarchy should less be about title and grading structure. It should be more about deployment if skillset and talent.

Looking at leadership through a lens of inclusiveness rather than management direction.

Where I have encouraged and built that it has had many tangible benefits.

The teams and people have felt more valued through being given the trust by the business.

They gave been given access to a new and much more interesting landscape. They realise the rewards that can bring and aid they drive to succeed.

They think more innovatively and look more strategically and importantly they want to listen and pick up new tips to build on.

This is where empowerment has brought motivation and the true sense of self worth, achievement and ambition!

Who wouldn't want to lead a team like this?
