Not Impossible!!

Often when given a major and difficult task they may say "it's impossible!".

The reason may be the timeline, the technical solution, the process or perhaps what benefits are to be delivered from it.

But of course elements will be difficult but impossible...really?

So what would the professional do?

They would do a work breakdown structure. What are the constituent elements and even breakdown within these if necessary.

Because it is this approach which identifies what is realistic to deliver, what could be delivered with more time or some solution tweaking. Then finally there may be elements which cannot be achieved.

But the above approach will enable a good proportion of the solution. And those bits which couldn't be delivered were maybe always unrealistic.

In so taking this more structured journey you will achieve more, better manage stakeholders and set expectations. It's very possible that you help define alternative approaches and strategy. Good for you and good for the business.
