Saturday Solution
Sometimes the best days out are the least planned. A weekend trip into the city to do a little bit shopping and a spot of lunch, with such fine weather was just too good not to make the most of.
A walk round a couple of boutiques got the inspirational juices flowing for new attire and potential combinations, so no purchase made until fully considered over a light Italian lunch with a glass of Prosecco followed by a bottle of Montepulciano. Perhaps over-doing it for early afternoon but the sun low in that sky with a light pinky tinge gave ot that Mediterranean feel (at least that's what I told myself).
Anyway onwards to more shops and a return to the previously visited ones realised a couple of winter purchases, not full winter clothing more the autumn- nearly- winter look, if such a thing exists.
So onwards we went for post shopping aperitifs , as the light dimmed and darkness drew in it was soon time for dinner. No point going home just yet- to be subjected to reality TV- no thanks.
So from the early Italian we opted for an Indian tapas style restaurant, where we enjoyed some fabulous authentic dishes, just enough to pick at without over-doing the waistline (considering earlier consumption).
Finally we rounded off with one more drink before opting for a bus home and the night was still young enough to catch a movie on Netflix.
That's what I call a Saturday well spent. So next time you're planning a Saturday don't be too detailed and go with the flow.
