Unplanned yet Enjoyable

At 10pm last night I was had an empty diary today. Until a couple of mates decided we do a walk.

The first in what we aim to be a regular occurrence in the quest to get and remain fit.

But also to continue an appreciation of the world,  on our doorstep, that we discovered during the pandemic.

Our walk too lk us along a path,  once an old railway line serving the  Mills around Midlothian South of Edinburgh.

Along the way,  following the river we had sine close visits from out more familiar wildlife.

Enjoying the way as we weaved through Rosslyn Glen,  around the bottom of the castle and through the woods to the enigmatic and now famous Rosslyn Chapel.

Once home to the legendary Knights Templar and made famous on.the big screen in the Da Vinci code.

So after a short stop at tearoom in Roslin ( cakes permitted during exercise) we continued the route towards Loanhead.

A walk that was once usually quiet now far busier with the outdoor living public.

Sunday mornings no longer being hangover recovery time, more an opportunity to appreciate our wonderful world.

Of course along the way it's always great to have a good political argument. To discuss the vagaries of capitalism and socialism, with agreement that neither are bad. But enormous wealth for the few needs rebalanced.

It's also interesting to see that the behaviour of politicians and global trade is bringer greater alignment of views, as are views on impact of social media. Or at least it did this morning.

But at the end of the walk when you feel refreshed, inspired and feel you've put the world to rights  then isn't that a good couple of hours well spent?
