Energetic encouragement

It sometimes surprises me that people with lots of energy and enthusiasm have that energy sapped by critical management styles.

Let's think about this. In commercial environments it's important the right decisions are taken and not made out of rash enthusiasm.

However where there is the energy it should have the appropriate channeling from the leadership team. In other words encourage and maintain the energy at the same time ensuring the right thought processes are being applied by the individuals.

This has the effect of encouragement and coaching. Positive steer is taken on board but being critical without coaching dilutes the energy and can have a polarising opposite effect.

As a leader the last thing you want to do is quell the motivational members of your team. Do that and you have reduced chance of motivating the less energetic to make forward strides. Do the encouragement piece and you inspire the wider team to be like your team energy providers.

Business needs forward motion but so do leaders for forward motion is what feeds them.
